Once we get an individuals’ health kit data and history, we have automated algorithms that flag players with unusually high active scores or spikes or duration on activity. They really want to get healthy, and they know that cheating the system is just cheating themselves. Still, we continue to be vigilant about cheating prevention, both to increase accountability and to ensure that each game is fair.
We based our active score calculation off the activity levels recommended by the US department of Health, CDC and the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans 2nd edition. https://health.gov/paguidelines/second-edition/pdf/Physical_Activity_Guidelines_2nd_edition.pdf#page=56
The active sore is a proprietary calculation that takes into account, active calories, amount of time spent exercising, non-active steps all equivalized for BMI. This ensures that it’s truly the activity level, effort and time spent is fair for all users

Money
For a simple reason: because we want Paid Workout to be as effective a motivation app as possible. A new study shows that very small financial incentives (as little as pennies a day) administered as a short “dose” may drive sustained physical activity. These findings, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, suggest that in fact, it appears that incentives tied to the achievement of realistic physical activity goals — like 500 additional steps per day — can actually stimulate physically active lifestyles that persist for several months after rewards are withdrawn.
Each challenges that Paid Workout Hosts has a set and pre-determined payout. You can clearly see (i) how many prizes are available per challenge (iii) what the value of each prize is and (iii) where you rank and if you are eligible for a payout
Getting your winnings is as easy as clicking a button! Shortly after the challenge closes, you will be notified that you’ve won and money will be deposited to your account., If you don’t want to put your winnings toward a new game, you can “Request a payout via PayPal.”
For larger prizes, we will verify you are the winner and provide a certified cheque….and maybe even a live celebration, especially for prizes over 6 figures.
Sadly, given the short duration of the challenges you cannot get a refund part way through.
For all game types, exceptions may be made if a player needs to drop out for medical reasons. Documentation must be provided to Paid Workout for verification purposes. We cannot refund players after challenges end
We want to reward our players with as much money as possible for accomplishing the super impressive task of achieving their weight loss goals. But we also need to keep the lights on over here at PW so you can continue to hustle hard. Our fee is used to pay for transaction costs, our full-time team, and other company expenses.
Paid Workout’s fee is x-y% of the pot. Because we predetermine and declare all payouts, winners do not incur any fees, in fact we lose money at times if groups are not full.
Hosting a Challenge
Hosting your own PW challenge is a great way to create just the game you want, with all the people you want, while motivating yourself and others. You can invite friends, colleagues, family and followers. Plus, it’s really easy! Just open the app, click on the Purple “create your own challenge” to get started. Then, you’ll be led to a page where you customize the game to your liking, including setting the start date, game type, and bet amount.
Once your game is created, the next step is to recruit players! Share on your social accounts, invite via email, or let your fellow PW hustlers know that you have a game starting soon. Games are required to have at least 5 players.
Of course. Your challenge is private. Only invited users can participate and only your team can see the challenge. It’s a great way to stay connected particularly during these unprecedented times with limited travel opportunities.
Did you know if you host a challenge you get to compete for free? How awesome is that!!!
Also, if you have more than 20 participants in the challenge you host, you get 10% of the pot! Workout with a guaranteed payout!!! NICE!!!
As Host of your challenge, your players will look to you to set the tone, start conversations, and provide extra energy and motivation. Of course, every challenge will have its own personality depending on the participants but here are some ideas to make your game a rewarding experience for everyone:
- Choose a fun name and challenge group pic to represent who you are and set the tone
- Start some interaction by fist pumping, sending welcome texts and emojis to participants.
- We set things off right with an email to all those you invite!
- Post things in your game that get people talking! Give a specific prompt, like asking everyone to share their favorite healthy breakfast or one temptation they’ll face that week and how they’ll handle it.
- Add bonus prizes! Some hosts like to host giveaways that get people involved. For instance, you could ask everyone to take a sweaty selfie after completing a workout you posted, and give a prize to one randomly selected player who completes the challenge.
- Be open about how it’s going for you. Share your frustration about the late-night bowl of ice cream you couldn’t resist, or your happiness after a tough 5-mile run. By being honest about the ups and downs of weight loss, you’ll make others feel safe sharing their experiences.
- Set a weekly or monthly calendar. Start “Motivation Monday” where everyone shares motivation for the week, or “Fitness Friday” where players share an exercise tip or routine. Knowing what to expect keeps players engaged and makes everyone more likely to participate!
